Medical Interiors

Seats

LifePort’s helicopter interiors are built around the MedDeck patient handling platform and the MedPak advanced life support (ALS) module. The MedDeck system includes an attachment plate, trolley, receiving deck, and AeroSled stretcher.

As its name describes, the attachment plate is the element of the system that interfaces directly with the aircraft. While the remainder of the MedDeck system is identical from aircraft to aircraft, the attachment plate varies by type.

The receiving deck portion of the MedDeck is supported by a rotating trolley and provides a secure interface for the AeroSled stretcher. The receiving deck includes locking towers that enable the AeroSled stretcher to be automatically secured for flight.

The AeroSled RS (Rotary Sled) is a molded plastic stretcher durable enough to be utilized in the most abusive environments. Like other AeroSled stretchers, the AeroSled RS includes a gas-spring assisted backrest, and a patient restraint system.

The MedPak is a modular ALS unit that is usually mounted in the aircraft’s cargo compartment. Similar to LifePort’s other ALS modules, the MedPak contains oxygen, compressed air, vacuum, and an electrical inverter. Due to the wide variety of mission parameters flown by helicopter programs around the world, the MedPak components can be customized to accommodate redundant components if required.

While the standard components of LifePort’s helicopter interiors remain basically unchanged from aircraft to aircraft, the means of delivering ALS services to the patient varies. To provide services across different aircraft types, LifePort has developed a wide range of service delivery systems. Restricted helicopters may utilize a medical service tower, while larger helicopters can accommodate an ALS cabinet.

LifePort helicopter interiors can be customized to accommodate limitless customer requirements, and are usually delivered to the customer under FAA STC.
